I am an award-winning teacher at USC Marshall, where I have taught Business Finance (BUAD 306 and 308) in both standard and flipped-classroom formats.
Guest Speakers: I believe that connecting knowledge with career implications is a powerful motivator for many college students. Each semester, I invite guest speakers to discuss how the financial knowledge taught in our class is applied to their business. Over the years, I have hosted speakers from various industries, including investment banks, hedge funds, and corporate executives like John D. Rainey, who was the CFO of PayPal at the time (see picture below). Feel free to email me if you would like to share what skills are most desired in your business.
In 2023, I received the Golden Apple Teaching Award for Core Teaching.
This is a student-voted award recognizing professors “who students believe have had
the greatest impact both in and beyond the classroom.” I am grateful for the appreciation
of my students and strive to continue contributing to their learning.
At home, I recently focused on teaching my two kids (Winston at 6 and Olivia at 3) T-ball and swimming.
